What attracts you to a beautiful sunsets, or keeps you looking out at the ocean? What inspires you when you are walking through the woods, or hiking on the mountain? Color. Color is everywhere. Our eyes absorb it, our minds are stimulated by it and our souls are excited to be part of the whole experience. Where the light comes from, and how the shadows dance to bring a certain ambiance to the environment we are engrossed in. Even black and white have many degrees of grays and pale white shades. Color such an extraordinary expression of life itself.
Subject Matter
Sometimes you can get lost in what you paint?.
You don’t want to paint like everyone else. You want new and different, but really what does that look like? I’ve seen a lot of art and there is definitely a numerous amount of “out there” type artwork. It ranges from unbelievably surrealism to outlandishly abstract and everything in between. For me, I paint what I am moved by, the wind blowing through the trees, that pink color in the clouds which on canvas looks fake but in nature is awesome. The soft sound of water running in a brook, and the song of birds in a quite space. The spiritual essence of God in our world. Those things are hard to paint, but that is my artistic goal. Something I one day hope to achieve in the art I do.
Just keep moving forward
Sometimes it’s hard to keep your enthusiasm for your ability to create art. There are so many artists out there you could almost become discouraged. We all come from different prospective and wide variety of audiences. Just like this blog I started. I have only begun, I have much to share, wanting interaction with other like minded. If I become introspective, I will lose the purpose of my blogging. So I’ll just keep moving forward, plugging along, enjoying these little moments of sharing with you.
Blogging
Talk about scattered thinking, I am so old school I keep losing my blog conversations with you. As a new blogger it seems I need more education on how to perfect the art of “Blogging”. Hopefully I will accomplish this without so much frustration. It’s kinda like when you are trying to achieve a certain look of depth in a art piece and you just can’t quite get it to blend, and every time you look at that piece you see that flaw in the art.
Sensitivity is an Artist Middle Name
As Artist we see things just a little differently than most people. We perceive things not as they are but as they could be and we feel things deeper, with more passion and just a little less logic. The creativity we experience is divine, since it mimic our Father the creator of all things. We each have a sensitivity to the here and now and the what could be in life.
Forest for the Trees

This was a visually difficult piece to do since I had to keep track of each tree and then look at the forest.
Painting is a way of creating a visual reality outside of the reality we face everyday. As you look into a painting you find something that stirs your heart or feelings.
